Reading Time: < 1 minuteAfter the official announce at the last VMworld EU, finally VMware vSphere 6.5 is now GA and available for the download.
There are several news in the Web client, in new vCenter, in the availability, in VSAN 6.5, in the new security features, new scalability and lot of other stuff.
The new VMware vSphere 6.5, recently available in GA, increase all configuration maximums to new limits (compared to the 6.0 and previous versions).
Maybe we can say with no limit, or at least, to be serious, with really huge numbers compared to the actual needs and the existing compunting power. Those new limits are both for scalability aspect, but also to fit with possible performance requirements, considering that a bigger number of business critical applications are going in the virtual environment.

Reading Time: 4 minutesThe first European edition of Nutanix .NEXT Conference is over… So which news are coming from this event?
First that there are enough numbers to make good European conferences, not only in the US… Several vendors already know it (see VMware with VMworld, but also NetApp and HP, to make some examples), but others does not bet on this region (see Citrix or Microsoft). There where a huge number of attendees, more than the expect number from the Nutanix. That’s a good sign for the future.
Reading Time: 2 minutesThis year there will be the first Nutanix .NEXT Conference in Europe (Vienna, 8-10 November), after the US edition in Spring 2016 (that was the second .NEXT US Conference). I’m very excited to attend at this event and I have a lot of expectation from it (see how was the first .NEXT Conference).
I’ve been invited (as a NTC) and I’m really curious to learn more about Nutanix products and technologies, their vision, their alliances, …. and of course to see a lot of friends.
The agenda seems very interesting and I hope that the level will be the same of the first .NEXT, with good overview in the general sessions and good technical level in the breakout sessions.
Reading Time: 5 minutesRemote Office / Branch Office (ROBO) scenario is usually challenging due to some constraints (like limited budget, lack of local IT people, limited IT resources and stuff, …) and some possible risks (like the bandwidth or latency assumptions could be wrong and not enought).
But in most companies the solution must provide same enterprise level services, like a right level of high availability, data protection, scalability (maybe not locally, but having more offices with similar solutions, …).
In most cases a two nodes solutions with a virtualization level could be enough, but what about the data protection aspects? Which kind of solutions could be suitable for a ROBO?
Reading Time: < 1 minuteBroadcom has announced a definitive agreement under which it will acquire Brocade merging networking with storage competency to build stronger company. Broadcom believes the SAN business is a strong complement to its portfolio of enterprise storage and networking solutions, also with the grow of converged storage solutions.
Due to competitive overlaps, Broadcom plans to divest the IP Networking business. Brocade’s intention is to assist Broadcom in finding a buyer that will continue to invest in the strong portfolio that Brocade created.
Reading Time: 2 minutesAs announced some months ago, the Dell Software division has been sold to Francisco Partners and Elliot Management. This division include Dell SonicWall (from the acquisition of more than 4 years ago), but also Quest (from another acquisition) and several other brands.
Now it’s clear that SonicWall brand reborns as a stand-alone company: SonicWall announced the launch of independent operations that it’s good for a security company (better to be as independed as possible).
Bill Conner is new President and CEO of this company. He hs spent bulk of his career in the cybersecurity industry, most recently as CEO of Silent Circle and previously as CEO of Entrust, President of Data Networks and President of Enterprise Networks at Nortel Networks.
