Sette anni di vInfrastructure

Reading Time: 3 minutesSette anni fa ho iniziato a scrivere questo blog e il sito vInfrastructure ha iniziato a crescere in popolarità, dai primi passi (ops posts), come testimoniato dal primo post ufficiale (Il blog prende vita) fino ai giorni nostri. Nel mentre è cambiato anche di nome, in realtà all’inizio è stato usato un dominio leggermente diverso, ma poi, per brevità, è diventato quasi subito quello definitivo. Nel blog si sono viste anche le evoluzioni dei prodotti VMware, dalle versioni vSphere 5.x (partendo proprio dalla 5.0), fino alle diverse versioni di vSphere 6.x… ma non solo, spaziando anche in altri prodotti VMware e non.

Reading Time: 2 minutesIl libro Mastering VMware vSphere 6.5 è archiviato e per assurdo sta diventando “obsoleto” con la nuova versione 6.7 di vSphere, ma nonostante tutto sta avendo un discreto successo di vendite (vedere questo post). In realtà si sta completando anche il secondo progetto, sempre un libro basato su vSphere 6.5, ma questa volta orientato all’esame VCP6.5-DCV exam.

Most of the other VMware and 3rd party products have reach the compatibility this this new release. For example, recently, also Veeam Backup & Replication support for vSphere 6.7 with the new 9.5 update 3a patch.

New Nutanix certifications

Reading Time: 4 minutesThe historycal technical certification from Nutanix was the Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP) certification: a free online exam to all Nutanix customers and partners wwhere training is recommended, but not required before attempting the exam. The exam was quite easy (due also the fact that it’s an online and not proctored exam), so the value of this type of certification was not so high. But was a requirement for Nutanix partners and and plus for a customer because it confirms your (minimal) ability to install, configure, and manage the Nutanix environment.
