Reading Time: 2 minutesNVIDIA and Mellanox today announced that the companies have reached a definitive agreement under which NVIDIA will acquire Mellanox. Pursuant to the agreement, NVIDIA will acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Mellanox for $125 per share in cash, representing a total enterprise value of approximately $6.9 billion. Once complete, the combination is expected to be immediately accretive to NVIDIA’s non-GAAP gross margin, non-GAAP earnings per share and free cash flow.

Reading Time: 3 minutesQualche giorno fa, VMware ha aggiornato la sua licenza per socket che diventerà effettiva a partire dal 2 Aprile 2020 (data curiosa, che, a parte evitare la possibilità di essere presa come un pesce di aprile, magari nasconde la data di rilascio della prossima versione di vSphere?). Ci sono cambiamenti significativi e si passa da una semplice licenza per socket (ossia l’intero processore fisico) ad una licenza più articolata che conta fino a 32 core per socket… con più core sarà necessario acquistare più licenze VMware.
