Reading Time: 3 minutes On August 2018, VMware has officially announced that their certifications will change the names with something different and no more related to the product version. New certification names will be identified by the year they are earned. Potentially this will make easier to immediately identify how current a certification is.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Nutanix has announced the new list of Nutanix Tech Champions (NTC) 2019. NTC is a community award, started on 2014, similar to others programs like VMware vExpert, Microsoft MVP, Cisco Champions, EMC Elect, … rewarding members of the community on their efforts in sharing their knowledge and enabling fellow community members.

Reading Time: 4 minutes VMware certification paths are quite clear with well defined technology paths (DCV, EUC, NV, Cloud) and different levels (VCP, VCAP, VCDX). All certifications require at least one proctored exam (some may require two different exams). The names of all exams and certifications will change using a “year” notation, but the concept remain the same. But there are also other type of exam, non proctored and just on-line version. One example are the Foundation exams.

Reading Time: 3 minutes Recently a new VMware vExpert Sub-Program has been announced: the vExpert PRO program. But compared with the vExpert program and the other vExpert sub-programs, is slightly different. A vExpert Pro is a current vExpert who excels in their local region, adding value to the program and giving back to the community. This person has a strong relationship with the local IT community in general, and works as an advocate for the vExpert program, recruiting, mentoring and training people.

Reading Time: 4 minutes Two years ago, VMware has started new vExpert (sub)programs on different technologies. One of those sub-programs was the vExpert NSX and I was honored to part of the first list. After the renewal of last year (VMware vExpert NSX 2017), I found that I’ve been renewed also for this year! VMware has just announced the list of vExperts NSX 2018.
