Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is built on the extremely successful Veeam Endpoint Backup™ FREE and includes two brand new editions — Workstation and Server — with additional features designed to ensure the Availability of your Windows workloads by providing backup and recovery for physical and cloud-based workloads, as well as endpoint devices that belong to remote users. There are a lot of improvements and new features for this new version.

VMware vSphere su Microsoft Azure

Reading Time: 2 minutesMicrosoft ufficializza un nuovo servizio (al momento in preview) su Azure che risponde al binomio VMware e Amazon (relativo all’offerta VMware Cloud on AWS). La soluzione si chiama VMware in Azure, e si tratta di un ambiente vSphere installato bare-metal all’interno dei datacenter Azure. Non ci sono dettagli architetturali, come ad esempio il numero di host minimi (su VMware Cloud on AWS è 4), il tipo di storage utilizzato (si utilizzerà la Cloud Foundation e quindi vSAN?). L’unica certezza è che l’intero servizio è implementato tramite partner VMware e non direttamente tramite VMware.

Reading Time: < 1 minuteSe utilizzate Veeam per il backup del vostro server di posta Exchange, l’aggiornamento di Microsoft Exchange 2016 Cumulative Update 5 (KB4012106) potrebbe causare qualche serio problema nel restore di tipo granulare delle mailbox. Nella sua mailing list settimanale, Veeam segnala questo potenziale problema, causato da una modifica nella struttura del database delle mailbox.

L’11 aprile 2017, Exchange Server 2007 terminerà infatti il suo ciclo di vita ed uscirà dal supporto: non saranno più rilasciati aggiornamenti alle nuove funzionalità e soprattutto non verranno più forniti fix relative a bug e alla SICUREZZA.

Le licenze sono disponibile per tutti i VMware vExpert, Microsoft MVP, VTEC member, Certified Engineer e Trainer e sono destinati ad ambienti non‑production ma senza limiti di funzionalità (utiler per lab, ma anche per gli MVP per proteggere i propri dati sull’account Office 365).
