Reading Time: 3 minutesSix months ago I wrote a post on some possible replacement for PernixData FVP because in August 2016 Nutanix acquire PernixData without give a clear message of the future of this product. Since acquisition, they’ve continued to maintain support for the “legacy” Architect and FVP products, as also they leave the possibility to extend the products base, leaving the acquisition of new licenses, but only to existing customents. I’ve go the promise that the product was update to support vSphere 6.5 (actually the maximum supported vSphere version is 6.0u3 (2148155)) and I’ve wrote some clarifications on […]

Reading Time: 2 minutesIn the past months there was no new news from Atlantis Computing and last press release is from October 2016! Not good signs at all from a technology company. Also recentrly the Slack channel for ACEs has been closed without any notice and some people are starting left the company. All seems related to this acquisition: Hive-IO has bought certain assets of Atlantis Computing, a struggling supplier of VDI and hyperconverged infrastructure software, for undisclosed financial terms.

Reading Time: 12 minutesThis is the last part of a set of posts realized for StarWind blog and focused on the design and implementation of a ROBO infrastructure. See also the original post. Design a ROBO infrastructure. Part 5: Data protection solutions Business continuity aspects In previous posts we have already discuss about several business continuity aspects in ROBO scenarios. For example, a reasonable availability level could be between 99% and 99,99%, but there are some workloads that may require higher level (or other that are not critical at all). But availability could be achieved by a good infrastructure design and […]
