Dopo la versione version 2.5 di vari mesi fa, PernixData annuncia la disponibilità in general availability (GA) di FVP version 3.0, ma anche del nuovo FVP Freedom Platform.
Le novità rilevanti della versione 3.0 di PernixData FVP sono:
Supporto a vSphere 6.0 (oltre che ovviamente a vSphere 5.x, come avveniva in precedenza) in tutte le sue edizioni.
Nuova interfaccia utente HTML5.
PernixPlus: una funzionalità di supporto remoto simile alla phone home di alcuni vendor
Ma la grande novità è stata l’annuncio della FVP Freedom Platform: una piattaforma del tutto identica come architettura alla versione a pagamento di FVP:
Unica grande limitazione il supporto solo alla cache di lettura (write through) e NON a quella di scrittura (write back), ma possibilità di utilizzare non solo gli SSD (o le memorie flash in generale), ma anche la RAM con la Distributed Fault Tolerant Memory (DFTM) introdotta nella versione 2.5.
E il tutto completamente gratuito e senza limiti di tempo!
