The Cohesity Data Platform combines a web-scale storage architecture with standards-based hardwar, in the same as there more and more HCI (hyperconverged infrastructure) solutions and platform in the primary storage world.

Reading Time: 2 minutesDurante lo scorso Veeam ON una delle tante novità annunciate è stata la versione per sistemi Linux di Veeam Endpoint, con l’obiettivo principale (almeno inizialmente) di proteggere workload Linux su cloud pubblici. Ma visto il successo del Veeam Endopoint for Windows, questo progetto è diventato più di ampio respiro andando a sviluppare un Veeam Backup for Linux pensato per sistemi sia fisici che virtuali (ovviamente per sistemi virtuali on-prem su vSphere o Hyper-V basta già il solo Veeam Backup & Replication).

Reading Time: 4 minutesAlla fine i rumors di questi mesi si sono rivelati fondati: Dell venderà la divisione Dell Software a Francisco Partners e Elliott Management Corporation, due nomi poco conosciuti in Italia, ma abbastanza influenti nella California. Questo annuncio è arrivato pochi mesi dopo l’altro annuncio relativo ad un’altra vendita: Dell ha rivenduto Perot Systems (acquistata qualche anno fa) a NTT Data (sottocosto visto che ha perso $800 million).
