A web HTML5 interface was needed in order to replace the legacy Windows’s based vSphere Client. And was a good solution, light and fast enough… But after 10 years it becomes old and the user experience is too much different compared to the vSphere Client (HTML5).

Of course, is possible to use Veeam Agent to manage the backup of workloads on different type of hypervisors, but having a native image level backup support is important to improve backup speed, simplicity and also have fast recoverability. March 29, 2024 is a day that will hardly be forgotten by the open source community: Andres Freund disclosed his findings about the compromise in the XZ Utils, which would enable an attacker to silently gain access to a targeted affected system. CVE-2024-3094 is a vulnerability discovered in the open-source library XZ Utils that stems from malicious code that was pushed into the library by one of its maintainers.
