Reading Time: 3 minutesDopo un lungo periodo di attesa, finalmente la nuova versione di Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 con i tanto annunciati (e attesi) supporti per SharePoint e OneDrive (Business). La prima versione di Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 risale a novembre 2016 e ha permesso di proteggere le email di Office 365, ma soprattutto i lasciare la libertà e semplicità per il restore, con strumenti del tutto simili a quelli di Veeam Backup & Replication (in realtà gli stessi per il restore granulare).

ArcOS is a high-quality alternative to vertically integrated OEMs, to meet and exceed the modern smart network infrastructure requirements. ArcOS is a fully programmable, microservices-based network operating system built from first principles. Based on Debian Linux, it is an open system that can be easily integrated with other Linux distributions as well.

Simplify VMware’s products update/upgrade

Reading Time: 4 minutesManaging the lifecycle of a complete software stack it’s something potentially complex because to the interdependence between the different layers, the order of the update or upgrade and the multiple software piecies (but also potentially some firmware/driver updates). For VMware vSphere there is VUM that can simplify ESXi lifecycle, but for example cannot manage the vCenter/PSC upgrade/update process. For VMware vSAN, VUM has been improved to consider the proper flow of the update process.

Runecast for NSX environments

Reading Time: 3 minutesRunecast is a powerful tool to monitoring and check a vSphere environment and recently also for a VSAN environment. But it’s not over, actually there is a beta for the new version (Runecast version: 1.7.6 probably) that can analyze also NSX-V environments and this could be quite cool, considering the potentially complexity of a NSX infrastructure. I’ve tested the beta on a small lab, just to see how does it work.

Reading Time: 4 minutesDurante il Dell Technologies World 2018 non sono mancati innumerevoli annunci di prodotti nuovi o nuove versioni di prodotti esistenti. Nel campo dello storage, non poteva mancare un prodotto di punta e questo è rappresentato dal succere di VMAX che è PowerMax. Benché tragga spunto dall’architettura del VMAX (che a sua volta era il successore del Symmetrix), il nuovo Dell EMC PowerMax è un progetto sostanzialmente nuovo disegnato sulla base dello stato dell’arte tecnologico e su quelle che si prospettano essere le nuove tendenze.
