Reading Time: 5 minutesCohesity è uno storage/solution vendor relativamente recente, con base nella Silicon Valley (a Santa Clara), ma con una chiara idea sul tipo di mission e vision: realizzare un soluzione completa per gestire lo storage secondario (quello utilizzato da backup, archiving, shares, …) e quindi un target molto specifico. Reading Time: 2 minutesTintri, a well know storage vendor focused on VM-aware storage (VAS) for virtualisation and cloud environments, announced the release of the Tintri VMstore T5040, a new entry-level all-flash storage array. The T5040 joins the existing VMstore T5000 All-Flash series and T800 Hybrid-Flash series to further expand customers’ choice of storage platforms that share a common operating system and real-time analytics. Also announce the new Tintri OS 4.1 and a preview of Tintri Analytics with VM and application level predictive analytics capabilities.

Reading Time: 3 minutesChanged Block Tracking (CBT) è una funzionalità introdotta in VMware vSphere 4.0 per permettere l’impementazione di backup incrementali nativi lato sorgente. VMware VDAP espone questa funzionalità (insieme a tutte le altre per i backup agentless) e di conseguenza tutti i programmi di backup nativi per VMware la utilizzato. Il problema è che settimana scorsa è stato individuato un bug molto critico che rende i dati del CBT non più attendibili! E questo riguarda tutte le versioni di vSphere 6 (inclusa l’ultima Update 1a).

Reading Time: 2 minutesWestern Digital Corporation and SanDisk Corporation announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Western Digital will acquire all of the outstanding shares of SanDisk for a combination of cash and stock. Western Digital and SanDisk seems two consumers related names, but they both have a huge enterprise market.
