Nutanix and PernixData share an architectural design philosophy that next-generation datacenter fabrics must keep data and applications close in order to drive the fastest possible performance and to deliver flexible, cost-effective infrastructure scaling. With this common vision, the two companies will develop an advanced data stack to replace traditional storage silos and high-latency networks with newer storage-class memory and advanced interconnects. These planned strategic investments in new server and storage technologies will provide customers with a re-imagined data fabric for a post-flash era of enterprise computing.
Reading Time: 2 minutesNel corso degli anni, Veeam è passata da un’offerta monoprodotto (in origine era il solo FastSCP poi diventato la base di Veeam Backup) ad un’offerta via via più completa che includesse non solo il private cloud, ma anche i cloud gestiti (service provider) e il cloud pubblico, ma fino a qualche anno fa sempre limitata a soluzioni native e specifiche per il mondo virtuale.
Con gli endpoint Windows e successivamente Linux (al momento in beta) si è iniziato a gestire anche workload fisici (o su altre piattaforme di virtualizzazione o cloud pubblici) estendendo l’offerta, ma limitandosi a situazioni stand-alone non gestite centralmente, se non nel repository (che può essere quello di Veeam Backup & Replication).

Nella seconda metà del 2016, VMware ha avviato dei nuovi (sotto)programmi vExpert su differenti tecnologie specifiche. Uno di questi è il vExpert VSAN. Finalmente l’elenco dei vExperts VSAN 2016 stato pubblicato ufficialmente.
Per partecipare al programma bisogna prima essere un vExpert oltre che ovviamente a contribuire nel specifico settore VMware Virtual SAN. Vi sarà un’application per ogni anno in ogni sotto-programma. L’application per il 2017 sarà prevista attorno a febbraio 2017.

Reading Time: 3 minutesNutanix has announced Acropolis Version 4.7 GA on June 28th (announcement details can be found here), but if you plan to use it it’s highly recommend downloading the latest maintenance release of this version, Acropolis Version 4.7.1 and start from it.
The new version of the NOS (previous name of the Nutanix Operating System) adds a lot of new and interesting features.
