Determine appropriate vSphere edition based on customer requirements (some changes from vSphere 4.x)

Questa scelta dipende da numerosi fattori, non solo i requisiti del cliente, ma anche i vari vincoli e assunzioni. Il prezzo e la vRAM entintment possono essere un fattore, per maggiori informazioni vedere vSphere 5.0 Licensing, Pricing and Packaging Whitepaper.

Di solito i bundle di tipo Essential coprono le esigenze del segmento SMB (o PMI), la versione Standard può rappresentare un upgrade in ottica di scalabilità del bundle Essential+ bundle, la versione Enterprise può essere la più adeguata in molti casi (da notare che la versione Advanced non è più disponibile) e la versione Enterprise+ è solo per chi necessita di funzioni specifiche di alto livello (come DVS, Auto Deploy, SDRS, SIOC, NIOC, …).
