Issues with Windows based vCenter

Reading Time: 3 minutesIf you still are using the Windows based vCenter Server with a SQL Server database you may have some login issues, due to a recent Windows update (released on July 10, 2018). You will have some errors in the SQL Server part with SQL startup issues due to “TCP port is already in use” errors. This is caused by a regression in the TCP/IP functions that manages the TCP port pool introduced in the July 10, 2018 Windows updates for Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 and Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2.

Reading Time: 2 minutesDue anni fa, VMware ha avviato dei nuovi (sotto)programmi vExpert su differenti tecnologie specifiche. Uno di questi è il vExpert NSX e ho avuto la fortuna di far parte della prima lista di vExpert NSX 2016. Dopo la riconferma nello scorso anno (VMware vExpert NSX 2017) scopro di essere stato riconfermato anche per quest’anno. Infatti VMware ha appena rilasciato la lista aggiornata con i vExperts NSX 2018.

VMware has confirmed that the increased Hot Add times experienced by some Veeam customers who have installed Veeam Backup & Replication Update 3a and the reason is the latest Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) 6.5 version used in U3a to support also vSphere 6.5 Update 2.

Upgrade to Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 2.2

Reading Time: 3 minutesFinally, the v2.2 of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is available also from the client update. Release on July 3, 2018 (see the release notes), the new agent versions (not only the v2.2 for Windows, but also the 2.0.1 for Linux) have been available from the Veeam Backup or other limited sources, but now are available to all. Not much news or improvements, mainly the official support for Windows 10 v1803 and some minor bug fixes.
