Reading Time: 8 minutesDuring the first Italian Tech Field Day Extra (at Cisco Live 2015 in Milan) the company that we met was, of course, Cisco. For an entire day we had different sessions with different Cisco’s people and talk about their different products, but also their different solutions and approaches. It was a full day (January 26th) from 9:00 to 17:00 with a bunch of interesting information (especially for me, where the networking part is usually the simplest part of my project, considering the medium size of Italian projects and environments).

It’s an online portal to test drive its SDN products, including Big Cloud Fabric and Big Tap Monitoring Fabric… like a hands-on-lab it could be very useful also for understand how the products works and its features. While traditional networking products require access to physical hardware in order to use or test products, Big Switch Labs enables instant online testing of its products via this one-of-a-kind demo environment.

Reading Time: 8 minutesDurante l’ultima edizione dell’IT Press Tour (la 14ma e la prima alla quale ho avuto l’onore di partecipare), svoltasi nella Silicon Valley (nel periodo dal primo a 5 dicembre 2014), abbiamo avuto l’occasione di incontrare molte aziende in differenti aree (Cloud, Storage e Big Data). La terza azienda che abbiamo incontrato durante il quarto giorno del tour è stata Primary Data, una nuova azienda nel mondo dello storage, ma con una soluzione che potrebbe completamente cambiare questo mondo.
